Hydraulic Manufacturing

Hydraulic oil filtration for presses, moulding and rolling

Most reservoirs we test are several ISO codes dirtier than their valves need.

Hydraulic press and moulding machinery in an Indian plant

What goes wrong

Servo and proportional valves sticking

Silt below the 25 µm inline rating circulates until it lodges in a clearance.

Element life falling

Inline filters that need changing early mean the bulk oil is too dirty.

Moisture from the shop floor

Humidity, wash downs and breathing cylinder rods put water in the oil.

Dirt built in at commissioning

New systems arrive with weld scale and pipe dope unless flushed properly.

The cost of downtime

The real cost is the lost production hour, plus rejects made before the drift was caught.

The business case

What we fit

Sizing follows from the cleanliness code your valves need and the reservoir volume.

filter_alt

Fine filter, tank mounted

3 µm absolute depth filtration cleaning the tank six to ten times a day.

filter_alt

Filter separator for heavy water

Drops free water out and filters the oil in the same pass.

filter_alt

Desiccant breathers

A low cost fit that stops most moisture and dust at the vent.

Project Profile

Injection moulding hydraulics, 1,500 L

ISO 21/19/16 against a 17/15/12 valve requirement reached 16/14/11 in a fortnight. Element life went from five weeks back to six months.

A typical project: customer not named, figures indicative. Verified site data available on request.

Common questions

Does the offline unit interfere with machine hydraulics?

add

No. It draws from and returns to the reservoir; pressure, flow and response are untouched.

What ISO 4406 code should I be aiming for?

add

Use what your valve and pump makers specify, often 16/14/11 for servo valves; otherwise 17/15/12 suits most systems.

Why is oil that is only two months old already contaminated?

add

New oil from the drum is often ISO 20/18/15 or worse. Filter it on the way in.
